KALESWARAM TEMPLE

Welcome to Kaleshwaram Devasthanam

The Mukteshwara Swamy Temple is unambiguously important due to the 2 Shiva Lingas found on one pedestal. they're named Lord Shiva and Lord Yama; put together referred to as Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy. Kaleshwaram is one in all the places of the 3 Shiva temples mentioned in Trilinga Desham (Land of 3 Lingams), another name for Telugu speaking region, the province, the opposite 2 being Draksharamam and Srishailam. This place is additionally known as Dakshina Triveni Sangamam, as 2 rivers meet here at the side of a 3rd, the unreal flow of Antarvaahini.

kaleswaram temple isa the one of the famous tourist place in telangana state. it's same that an extended time back one in all the Vaishyas had performed Associate in Nursing abhisheka to Kaleshwara Mukteswara with many milk pots and also the milk evolved at the sangamam of Godavari and Pranahita. thence the name Dakshina Gangotri (the different being Allahabad, or Prayaga) A large range of tourists arrive throughout the Karthika Month(November 16-December 15) of the Indian Calendar and Maha Shiva Ratri. Regular bus services from Warangal, Karimnagar and Manthani ar accessible provided by APSRTC.

Buses leave from Hanamkonda each half-hour from 4:30 AM to 8:00 PM. The bus from Kaleshwaram to Hanamkonda runs on the same schedule. Northern boundary of Trilinga Desa The ancient Trilinga Desa (the land of the 3 Linga) from that the words Telugu, Telangana ar believed to possess been derived, refers to the land between the 3 major Shiva Kshetras – Srisailam, Draksharamam and Kaleshwaram, on a map, they agree a triangle. Kaleshwaram forms the northern most boundary of the Trilinga Desa and our journey to the temples of Telangana took us to the current unique temple, 132 kms from Karimnagar, 64 kms from Manthani.

Driving from Manthani, the route to Kaleshwaram took us along the course of the Godavari river, for most part of this trip, the Godavari kept us company, suddenly emerging out of corners and giving us a beautiful surprise like this one. A scary jungle drive ! The road was decent enough from Manthani until we reached Mahadevpur, we stopped here for a breather and a cup of tea. From Mahadevpur, the next 16 kms were slightly scary. To begin with, Mahadevpur seems like the last bustling village in this part of the state.

Just after Mahadevpur, you enter the thick jungle, roads become narrower, rough and the jungle seems to be closing in on you. It is totally isolated, there are no phone signals and for the last 10 kms, there is practically no road, only path of gravel ! If you are lucky, you might have an APSRTC bus as your travel companion, we took some comfort that there were other humans around ! It took us close to 2 hours to cover the 60 odd kms between Manthani and Kaleshwaram. We reached Kaleshwaram around 5.30 PM, there was no one at the temple, all was quiet.
